Mortgage Bankers Association Elects New Officers

Seattle Mortgage Company's Rob Story, Jr. Elected Vice Chairman

BOSTON, MA - The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) today announced the election of Kieran P. Quinn, CMB, Chairman of Column Financial, Inc., a Credit Suisse company, as the 2008 Chairman of MBA at the association’s 94th Annual Convention & Expo in Boston. David G. Kittle, CMB, President of Principle Wholesale Lending, Inc. was named Chairman-Elect of MBA, while Robert E. Story, Jr., CMB, President of Seattle Financial Group, was named Vice Chair. All three officers are Certified Mortgage Bankers (CMBs) and will serve for the 2007–2008 membership year.

Quinn’s agenda on behalf of the real estate finance industry will focus on the association’s legislative and regulatory goals, including pushing for a revitalized Federal Housing Administration (FHA), working on a national federal standard to combat abusive lending, supporting reform of the oversight of government sponsored enterprises (GSEs) and continuing to support third party organizations that work with borrowers facing delinquency and foreclosure. MBA will continue to reach out to consumers via its consumer education Web site, Home Loan Learning Center at www.homeloanlearningcenter.com. Also available in Spanish, the site highlights critical information for home buyers and also includes a Foreclosure Resource Center for borrowers who are having trouble making their mortgage payments.

Kieran P. Quinn, CMB, Chairman
Kieran is Chairman of Column Financial, Inc., a Credit Suisse company based in Atlanta, Georgia. He is responsible for managing Column Financial, U.S. and Column Guaranteed, its Fannie Mae DUS and Freddie Mac origination affiliate. Kieran has served on MBA’s Commercial/Multifamily Board of Governors (COMBOG) since 2000, serving as Vice Chair from 2003-2005. He has also served as Vice Chair of the Board’s strategic planning committee, Chair of MBA's audit committee and Vice Chair of MBA's political action committee (MORPAC), as well as the membership committee. Kieran is a trustee of the International Council of Shopping Centers and Regis High School in New York City. Additionally, he is Governor of the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association and a member of the Finance Council of the Archdiocese of Atlanta.

David G. Kittle, CMB, Chairman-Elect
David is President and Chief Executive Officer of Principle Wholesale Lending, Inc., in Louisville, Kentucky. He served as Chair of the MBA’s political action committee (MORPAC) for two years, Vice Chair of the Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG), and as a member of MBA’s Advisory Committee. He is also a past president of both the Louisville and the Kentucky MBAs and has served as Chairman of the Ethics & Standards of Practice Committee for the MBA of Louisville. He is involved in various other real estate finance industry organizations, including the Home Builders Association of Louisville.

Robert E. Story, Jr., CMB, Vice Chair
Robert is President of Seattle Financial Group in Seattle, Washington. He has been an active member of the MBA for over two decades and currently serves on its Board of Directors. He is a member of the Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG). He has also served as President of the Washington Mortgage Lenders Association and on several MBA committees including MORPAC, MBA’s political action committee. Robert is a graduate of MBA’s Future Leaders Program.
